Oakring Chadun

Born 8th June 2007
16.3hh Chestnut Graded Anglo European Stallion

Oakring Chadun is know outside the ring as Charlie

This young stallion has already proved himself to be a serious sport horse despite only being competed very lightly to date. But what this young horse has done, has been done with style, he has just about won every competition he has entered into so far.

His dressage campaign has been tremendous gaining 68 points in just 9 outings; with 10 wins out of 17 tests, and the worst placing only being placed 5th. Boasting scores of above 70% his dressage campaign has been a very fruitful one. Additionally Oakring Chadun has been featured in Horse and Hound for his double win at Vale View.

As a four and five year old he did a few Burghley young event horse classes; always getting into the top ten positions and qualifing for the Lycetts young event horse championships.

In 2013 he did his first warm up one day event at Osberton of which he secured a very convincing win. He was aiming for many more novice level events and a one star that season; however a bizarre injury in the field one night resulted in a tiny fragment of bone chipping off the back of his knee meaning Charlie was out for the entire 2013 season. Luckily the long term prognosis was excellent and with no compromise to Charlie’s future.

Charlie has recovered very well and has been back in work on a long rehabilitation programme. He is aimed for British dressage over the winter and then back to his British eventing campaign aiming at novice level and qualifying for a couple of one star events over the next season.

Charlie will not be used as a commercial stallion until he has established a successful career as a sport horse despite a great deal of interest from people wanting to use him for their mares already. This again demonstrates Sam’s professionalism towards the production of her young horses and also her long term vision and ambitions for Oakring Stud.
